Go to the Light. When depression is knocking at your door.

When depression is knocking at your door.

Do you know this cloud? It is there; you sense it’s there, and sometimes it’s bigger, sometimes darker, occasionally you can ignore it, and often you are unaware of it. But it is there. Hovering over your head — and in you. The cloud goes by many names: annoyance, frustration, disappointment, regret, sadness, depression, or even downheartedness (what a great word).

I was sitting on my sofa, and the cloud was weighing a ton, super dark, and at the same time captivating and attractive. It invited me to follow and dissolve within its depth. Oh, sweet temptation.

My belly waved the red flag. I knew somehow it was right. The solution was to turn instead towards the light. To lift myself and to go swimming the next day. I slept, got up, and packed my bag…

I returned changed. I had chosen the light. I had seized the moment. How lucky!

As the light prevailed, the cloud lost its power. Slowly, I started to enjoy life again. Grateful for my awareness, intuition, and, above all, the light.
